Are there any fellow Browncoats lurking out there?
I am up late (or early, depending on your point of view) and watching Serenity. If you haven't seen it yet... it's an excellent movie. I highly recommend it, even if you didn't watch Firefly when it was on TV.

I wonder if there are enough Browncoats out Bendward to organize one of these.
Carrie and I missed the show when it was on tv, so we rented the whole series from blockbuster online. The first couple carrie was skeptical, but then she really got into it. We really enjoyed watching the shows but were really disappointed when we got to the end and we knew there were no more coming.
I thought the movie was great, but I could see how (the critics) some people might have thought it had some holes. I thought it was great and it summed up the emptiness I felt at the end of the series. The movie picks up where the series left off.
I would totally recommend this series and movie to anybody. But with one disclaimer, its really good and its gone. So what you get is all there is and there isnt any more coming :(
Actually, re: the critics, the film was widely well reviewed by mainstream critics and reviewers. It's just that nobody knew that because there wasn't enough of an ad campaign trumpeting that fact.
A screening of Serenity would be great... if there aren't enough people interested in Bend then might have to make a road trip to pdx in June!
I watched the series from the first few episodes on... loved the premise and thought it was very well executed. I still watch it on SciFi when they re-air.
My friend has all the Firefly episodes on VHS that she recorded -- I've been meaning to borrow them as I've heard it's a great show, just haven't had a chance to watch any of them.
Recorded to VHS when? The trick with using anything other than the DVDs is making sure you're (1) actually getting all of them and (2) getting them in the right order.
The original FOX airings provided neither of those crucial aspects. Nor were they in the proper widescreen format.
Funny thing is I just started watching it on dvd through my blockbuster online account. I love this movie...almost as much as star wars...almost...
