ALL of the kitchen drawers are now done. Built, installed, and loaded with my kitchen crap. The pantry is still cluttered, but not as crowded. And, now no one can find anything but me. Bwahahahaaaaa...
For all of you out there that are keeping track... that's twelve drawers down, nineteen to go. Most of those are for the bathrooms, with a few for the bonus room and kids' built-in units. So, we are definitely getting closer to being done with this part of the house. Woot!

Check
Accomplished a lot today, after mostly sitting around yesterday! We got a bit of a slow start but finished strong. :)
Scott's daughter that lives in Eugene came by to get another box of hers that we found when we cleaned the garage. So we unloaded a bunch of other unneeded miscellaneous too, including a coffee table, some framed pictures, an old grill, and some tire chains. She was happy to get all that stuff, and we were really happy to see it go away.
AND Scott cut all the materials needed for drawers. That's right - we've been living here for more than a year and WITHOUT drawers. None. Not in the bathroom, kitchen, another bathroom, bonus room, or the other bathroom. ZIP. If you have never tried this... let's just say I don't recommend it. Our goal is to have all the kitchen drawers done by Thanksgiving. Keep your fingers crossed for us!
Not ready for another week to begin... but since the kids don't have school tomorrow I guess I will live vicariously through them.

Outside
Got some yard work done today, with Stinky's help. I weeded the top part of the yard; the border around the grass where I planted the tulips & daffodils last fall. Stinky added some plant food to the ones that are coming up. We have lots of baby tulips and a couple of daffodils are finally poking through too. He also planted some seeds (mostly wildflowers and lobelia). I don't expect much to come of the seeds but they were free seeds and it gave him something to do.
It rained a bit this morning so the soil was warm and moist!
Planted some more bulbs (dahlias & lilies) in containers for the front porch - so we can bring them inside if it gets too cold. And some herb seeds in smaller pots for inside. Stinky is keeping the basil in his room so he can track the growth. I also have rosemary, cilantro, and nasturtiums - in the kitchen window with Boo's fairy garden.
Now that I have done all that work it will probably snow... since that seems to be the way things work!

Closets
We are finally getting around to finishing our closets - building and installing shelves, clothing bars, and so on. We started everything today, but only completed the pantry so far. It is wonderful to have so much shelf space. (We had a couple of old modular units set in there, temporarily.)
Tomorrow we'll finish up the bedroom closets and the other rooms. Not a relaxing weekend... but it feels good to get something accomplished.

Wagon
Apparently I fell off the blogging wagon. Oops!
We had a busy, often fun weekend. We didn't make it to the munch n movie but we did go to the brew fest. Actually I went twice; on Friday with Scott to drink beer. On Saturday I went with some girl friends and indulged in the blackberry cosmos (Bendistillery had a booth). A visit to Anthony's for just one more drink and some appetizers wrapped up the evening... I highly recommend the crab, artichoke and shrimp dip.
Scott and I went to the Shawn Mullins concert on Sunday and that was a great show. It was a very cool show - just him and one other guy and their guitars (there was a mandolin tossed in there somewhere too). It rained a little but only enough to scare away some old people who didn't look like they enjoyed the music anyways. It has been a very good "concert summer" for us!!
Also on the house front we finally installed all the "bathroom hardware" (tp holders, towel racks, etc.). We continued to caulk every crack, seam and nail on the outside of the house, and put up the bats on three sides of the house. So we accomplished a bit in addition to enjoying ourselves.
